Charlie's Story

New stuff, here folks. Thought I'd be more where I usually am......"out there"......retiring, head in the clouds as usual and living life like its my second say in Wonderland. Enjoy!! Glad you stopped by. Say hello to your Mom. Life.... "My Journey To The Great Awe." Not bad, eh? Does it sound like a fish? Hey, I have been retired since I was 47 and raising my teenage son, Jackson. He is 17 now and I am tired!! Being a guy, a single parent and trying to find my shoes isn't easy you know. I found out how hard it is to take care of long hair. I also found out how wierd it is to be 50 and have hair down to my butt, but at least I have hair!! It gets in my mouth, so if any girls read this, let me know how you stop that. It drives me crazy, but not crazy enough to cut it. It goes with my guitar and makes people think I am a washed up musician or something!! I enjoy the irony! "Disclaimer" Found this site in preparation for our 25th BHS Reunion and still like it. (2000) Is this "bio required? Okay.. And as many of you know, WE graduated HS and college, somehow. In my case, I started my own business.....sold it in '05....now retired. hmm, is that it? Let's see... Okay, THEN I got single again, also somehow. So now I consider any woman who touches or breaks my heart, BUT, who never betrays her man....right or even wrong, one who is tender and wild.....a contradiction of the ultimate demonstration of the power, even "mystical" of the constant interaction among Peace, Love and Music fulfilling all my dreams... to be desirable, finally. I am humbled yet I am going to take it!!!! (I think that was about love??) How was THAT sentence!! I hope Mrs. Best doesn't read it and tell me its NOT a sentence, but I think she died, bless her soul. Okay, THEN WHAT? hmm.. If I can find where I left off!!!! I truly enjoy being a 50 year old, long haired, bearded Peacenik Hippie (versus radicals, dope brain(less), or so many other kinds of "hippies, a...Expand for more
s if we had any in Beaumont".....but not too many classmates turned out bad. Good job!! But me, I found my music again and I write my music, if I have a pencil ...it flows to and through me and I can finally play that, which only means if I know what I want to play, I can usually find a similar sound on a guitar.......and then, I feel like I am part of Heaven......as we all are... (and I am giving YOU then benefit of the doubt!!).....can you tell I'm in my humorred, philosohical "mode?" Truly, I am happy to have the opportunity to afford my son the greatest gift I can offer him, which is my time. I call him a lot of things (and I am sure he calls me many more) "Jackson Eric Amos" and I liked it because if you go outside and are mad at your kid, you have to be sure it sounds okay when you YELL ALL 3 names, right? MORE??? I really am not that interesting, but did this thing keep telling you all how many more "characters" you should tell about?? Should I talk about ME as a character or all the characters I knew from school? That's a tough decision....so okay, last round.... I really enjoy my farm and it opens SO many doors to create and add to the world. I bought and am restoring two buildings on "Main Street" and have ideas that keep me happy. I call the big one "Derby Parker's" for now. How is this for a theme??? "Derby Parker's Timeless Cool" hmmm...live music on the roof!! Yeah, and Friday night, Alley A Jams? On the ROOF!!! Just like the Beatles!! Well, for anyone stopping by, it is a place for all my old friends to play, turn gray and stay. AND I'm interested in renewing old friendships or perhaps creating new ones for those days I really didn't know where I was! (okay, like you did!!). I have many fond/great/funny, etc., memories of my life in Beaumont and now that I have more time, I'd like to hear from some of you!! Peace, love and music to all!!! Charlie (and I still have over 16 thousand characters. that's a book!!)
