Charles's Story
Life
Life's been good to me so far, but I've been too stupid to realize it. After plodding around SoCo most of the last decade, I got out of the dot-com rat race, got married, and moved to Las Vegas and bought a house in that order. Now, its 2008. Laura and I now have twin 7 month old boys that are fantastic little creatures. We've contemplated a move back to the bay area. Its something we're going to do eventually, because Vegas is no place to raise a kid.
I'm still the fat, lazy goodfornuthin' that was largly overlooked 20 years ago, but now I play to my strengths. I've had the chance to do some comedy work down here, last was a swimming pool stunt in the main pool at Caesar's Palace for the HBO Comedy Festival. Also do some extra work, best one got me in Rocky Balboa for a little more than three frames. However, the ham n' egger gig that pays the overdrafts is less than glam. School
Ah, the Ranch. A school so cool, they named a salad dressing after it. Don't carry much regrets, but I'd gladly take the way-back machine to 1984 and tweak with my past to make things a little better.
College
College and work never synchronized for me. That and the as yet diagnosed ADD prolly kept me from going onto film school like I wanted to. Heh, prolly would have ended up writing/directing d-list Skinamax movies anyway. Oh well. About the time that all went to hell, I jumped head first into the engineering side of the internet. Web server design; conference/chat servers, e-commerce security, and general noodling. Recently, I've finally got around to completing tests toward my MCSE certification. I don't want career day to roll around and have to annouce to the boys' classes that their daddy works in an airport potty. sad dad.
