Update 6/26/15:
Hooray! The state of Kentucky is finally going to recognize our marriage. About time! We got married in Chicago on our 26th anniversary, May 7, 2014. It was amazing to be able to drive just 6 hours to a place where it was legal. Now couples like us are getting married right here in Fayette County. :-)
Life

am at University of Louisville--then studied Political Science instead. (My volunteer work with LGBT organizations took me in a political direction.) Finished the M.A. in 1998, and went to Rutgers for the Ph.D., but the program wasn't a good fit, and we moved back to Kentucky--Lexington, this time. I'm an activist at heart, but also seem to be a perpetual student. So I'm working at University of Kentucky, volunteering with Kentucky Fairness Alliance, and taking one class each semester for the next 25 years (free tuition)! How's that for balance?
