Cheri's Story
Married at 16-in grade 11- had 2 girls and a boy-now it's grandkids -in 1970 got my 1st horse (half Arab/Palomino), won all classes we showed in, Then got my dream Arabian stallion who went U.S./Can. champ,L.O.M., he of course had to have mares and 2 straight Egyptian Stallions, and more Egyptian mares - to make a long story short, wound up on 10 acres with a 20 stall barn,breeding, training, showing in Canada and the US- my life's dream! kids and Arabs! Of course too good to last and lots of sadness but still have my kids-2 girls and a boy and 4 grandkids -lost the 5th one to leukemia, but consider myself very lucky on the whole. Now I have 2 birds- rescued male Yellow Naped Amazon parrot and a little female co...Expand for more
ckatiel. I lost my beloved female Dutch Blue lovebird to cancer last year at 12 yrs old. The only thing I really still want is ONE last Arab, just to ride - not a barn full - too old! Worked for Gov't. for 20 years too long and now I just spoil my parrots-just like having babies all over again! Now I plan to enjoy my retirement - I earned it! I'm on Facebook -for my old friends if they want to join me, but haven't figured out my iMac and camera yet to upload photos - need my daughter's help!-which she did by sending me this late '80s pic of all of us together at Grannie's 100th B'Day, where we al look (she said) like hookers! That was the 80's! A fun time, tho not the same as the 60's, that is if you remember it!
