Cheryl's Story

I always wanted to be a Billionaire when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a outrageous idea. As it turns out, they were right. My favorite current way to blow off steam and relax is to camp for about a week, or walk for about 5 miles. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have soda, friends, and a radio to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Kara Trowbridge, because She was my best friend and I haven't seen her in YEARS. I have lots of obsessions. I love watching sports, love my dogs and cats. And Survivor is the best TV show. My biggest unfortunate "surprise" was my mom passing away. It totally changed my life and my outlook on life. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my entire house and add on a bathroom (at least one) and another bedroom. My dream home would be clean always.. I've learned a lot from my kids. Mostly I've learned that I should have given my parents more of a break when I was growing up. I should have been more understanding of their problems and less embarrassed to be around them. I love going places with my father, and miss my mother more than words can say. I would either like to see Ms. Lilly or Sister Janet (both from St. Stephens). They were always my favorite teachers. If I won $100 million, I'd give 1,000,000 of it to animal shelters, then spend the rest on my kids, my family and my house. To be truly happy, I would be traveling the country with my husband in a large motorhome. My current age is 40. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely wrong. I currently work for a lawyer who is a sole practitioner. I love it. I have no idea what happened to my first crush. That was a long time ago. We moved out of the neighborhood when I was about 8 or so, and I don't know that I've seen him since. My best friend would tell you I'm...Expand for more
funny and outgoing, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quite. Funny that that's mentioned. As I sit here I have on jeans and a Lacoste shirt (formally known as an Izod) - same things I wore back in the day. I share my home with my husband and two kids, which I find exhausting. My biggest victory has been overcoming cancer three separate times. And living to tell the horrible tale. Can't and won't discuss what I would do-over, but there are a couple big things I would do differently. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by not dying. I've had many friends over the years that I've fallen out of touch with. Currently, I do speak occasionally with Michelle Maxwell (whom I will never forgetting meeting. Finding her house was a bear, but after we did, I don't think we spent a day apart for the next 6 years.) Kara Trowbridge was my little grade-school best friend and I haven't seen her a long, long time, but we were friends from the 1st day of 1st grade. Cheryl Binicki was really a good friend too, back since kindegarten. My high school friends included Lisa Ahle, Debbie and Donna Delkus, Andi Winkler, Beth Molitor, Aline Hoey, Michelle Maxwell (of course), and a few others. My closest friend now is Kiann McDonald. She and I met through my husband and have told numerous secrets and did a bunch of crazy stuff together. I love my friends!! Maybe I am louder now than in high school. I think, what surprises me the most at this stage in my life, is that I really don't give a crap what people think about me. In high school I was always worried about what people thought. Now I don't. People I don't really know shouldn't have an opinion about me, and if they do and it's unfavorable, I don't care. My first job was at the concession stand at the swimming pool, where I got paid 3.35 to serve snacks. What I remember most about it is Fun, fun fun.
