Cheryl's Story
Well, as you can tell from my profile....I graduated from Molalla High School in June of 1986.
After I graduated, I got a job working for the Oregon State Health Division, until I went away to college in Aug. 1986.
I attended BYU for over 3 years, and came home every summer to work for the State Health Division.
Finally, after getting "burnt out" on going to school, and living in Utah, I decided to come home (to Oregon) to finish my degree. (It also didn't help that one of my best friends at BYU was killed tragically in a car accident, and I just wanted OUT of Utah).
So, I came home from school, and found work at Romar Transporatation Systems, Inc. I was able to acquire a job, that let me gain experience in my field of study (International Business Manangement).
I worked for Romar for 16 years as Office Manager-Human Resources Director.
While working at Romar (during 1991), I attended Portland State University, to continue studying International Business Management. I stopped going to PSU in 1992, and then FINALLY decided to finish my degree in 1997, so I enrolled at Concordia University, and went to school at night. I graduated with my BS in International Business Management in Dec. 1998! Whoo hoo!
In Dec. 2005, my manager (the VP of Romar) bought the Portland Romar division and renamed it Cascade Logistics, Inc.
So now, I am working for Cascade ...Expand for more
Logistics, Inc as the Human Resources Director, Operations Manager and Office Manager.
After Peter (my manager - the owner & president of Cascade) retires, he has indicated that I will take over as President of Cascade Logistics. As a result, I have been intensely learning all aspects of our business, so I can better prepare for the future.
As far as my life away from work.....I was married for about 3 years (when I was 22 yrs old); however, that did "not" work out, so I divorced in 1995.
I have never had any children of my own, however between ALL of my brothers & sisters, I have 17 nieces & nephews (ranging in age from newborn to 28 yrs. old). So I borrow them from time to time....or try and spend time with them when I can.
I really enjoy that, as it helps to fill the vacancy of not having my own children. I also have several close friends, and their children call me "Auntie Cheryl."
I am currently single, and have been dating my boyfriend of eight years, Jim. However at this time, we have no plans to marry in the near future. We are just taking one day at a time.
I would love to reconnect with old classmates and friends. I have a lot of fond memories from High School and College, and it's sad, that after graduation....we all separate and go our own ways....sometimes never reconnecting.
So if you want.....send me an email.....and say hello.
