Life
Classmates Biography
Our family lived in Ohio and Colorado before we moved to Tennessee when I was 10. We lived in Oak Ridge and Clinton while Dad worked in research. After graduating from Clinton High, I attended Ozark Christian College,married Dan Otero ,and then we transferred to Cincinnati to finish graduate school in theology (for Dan) and undergrad and grad in theology (for me). After three years at Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary we moved to Glendale, Arizona, where Dan was a Chaplain in the USAF. He died while trying to rescue a drowning man in 1982, leaving me with Aaron, our son, aged 20 months.
After deciding to return to Tennessee to obtain more education, I met Ross, my Australian husband, at Emmanuel School of Religion, Johnson City, Tennessee. We married and moved to the United Kingdom as church workers in 1986, where we were church planters until 1996. During those 10 years we had 3 children; Becky, Jessie, and Andrew. k at International Christian College of Manila as professors and administrators. We love our work. Aaron, our big boy, is 24 and lives in St. Louis where he works for MasterCard. The other three kids are here with us in Manila, attending Faith Academy. Life has been and continues to be an exciting challenge, but we enjoy serving God as we serve the Filipino people here.
College
I attended Ozark Christian College from 1973-1976,working on a Bible and Music degree. After I married, my husband, Dan Otero, and I transferred to Cincinnati Bible Seminary for Dan to obtain an M.Div. and for me to complete a Music degree and an MA in New Testament studies. After Dan's death, I returned to Emmanuel School of Religion to gain an M.Div. in Christian Doctrine. Currently, I'm working on my PhD in Practical Theology at St Marys College at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. My dissertation is in the field of practical theology as I write about changes in worship practice here in the Filipino Churches of Christ.
