Ralph's Story
I attended East Bakersfield High School from 1960 through 1964. I was in the senior class play Harvey and played Dr. Chumley. However, this was the year that the senior class play was cancelled just before production because three other cast members were suspended. I also was in the piano, Latin (three years of Latin), and medical career clubs. I played football on the C team in my freshman hear however, my 100 + myopic eyesight limited by athletic ability.
After graduation I joined the Army 1965 through 1968. I served at Fort Ord, Ft Hamilton Brooklyn NY and TSN, RVN. I graduated from Bakersfield College in 1970. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1972. I then attended graduate school at Humboldt State Univerity. m now retired, married, and have a daughter in high school. I have traveled to New Zealand, Hawaii, Mexico, Vietnam, and the UK. I love retirement and now sing in two choral groups.
I always wanted to be a farmer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were probably right.

I have 6 cats who run our household and I am one of their servants.
My first job was at the 99 Drive In Theater at 16 years old, where I got paid $2.40 per hour to work in the snackbar.. What I remember most about it is huge crowds during intermission and getting to see lots of movies.
Falling off the large bolder at Jamison Summer Camp, age 8. I Fell 30 feet onto a barbwire fence. This was after repeated warnings to stay off the rock because it was slippery. I found out that it was very slippery.
