Chris's Story
Life
I guess I can describe my life and my philosophy in the following words from a few old songs:
"What a long, strange trip it's been."
"When you see a chance, you take it."
"You can't please everyone so you've got to please yourself."
Military:
I served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 - 1974. I was with USAFSS (US Air Force Security Service, which was Air Force Intelligence). I served my overseas tour at Karamursel CDI (Common Defense Installation) in Turkey (1971-1973). My last duty station was Edwards AFB in California, from where I was discharged.
Education:
Between High School and going in the Air Force I attended Santa Monica College in California. After discharge from the Air Force I attended college on the GI Bill, going to El Camino Coll...Expand for more
ege, Foothill College, and California State University, Sonoma. I finally got my degree from the University of New Orleans, which is where I met my wife Susan.
What I'm Doing:
I am a Litigation Analyst for major insurance group, with my office in downtown Chicago (Sears Tower).
I was diagnosed with cancer in January, 2008. There is no doubt in my mind that I am going to beat this SOB.
I still hunt and hike and run around the woods and do pretty much everything I've always done. Shoveling snow is getting old, though. I still draw (graphite primarily, some charcoal) and sell some of my pieces occasionally; others I keep for posterity (you know the old adage: Artists do not get recognized until they are dead!). I periodically exhibit in local galleries.
