Chris's Story

Life So, what do you want to know? What do people care about? I guess what I'd want to know is if someone was happy. Well, I am. But, in case you want to know more, here's more... After High School I spent a semester at PCC, then served 2 years as a missionary in Denmark. I spent 1 more semester at PCC and went on to get a BFA in printmaking at BYU. While a student at BYU I met and married my wife. We have been happily married since 1990. We now have 3 children: 2 boys and 1 girl. After graduation, I left Utah never thinking I'd return and went to graduate school at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa to work on an MFA in Bookbin...Expand for more
ding. During that time I did an internship in Book Conservation at the University of Cincinatti. From there I went on to work for BYU in the library's Conservation Department and 6 years later I began work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints repairing the documents and books in the historical department. In addition, I teach bookbinding at the University of Utah. I am also actively involved in what's known as the Book Arts. While my full-time job is book conservation, I consider myself a Book Artist and spend as much time as possible making books which have been exhibited across the country and even around the world.
