Chris's Story

Life I'm here to try to connect with an old friend or friends, because as we get older and life changes, I think, we feel a need to reconnect with the familarity of our youth. I think it may be a bit tough to try to condense 30 years into 4000 typed characters/spaces, but I will try my best. As you know, I didn't graduate from PCHS. I actually moved to Ft Erie for a year and went to Ft Erie Secondary. That was '75/76. I moved back to Port in the summer of 76 and should have graduated in '78 with some of you. I wasn't going to grade 13, but in Feb '77 I moved to Alberta instead. Started an apprenticeship as a heavy equipment mech in 77. I received my red seal trade certification and worked in that field until 1983, until I went to work in a power generation plant. I then worked and received my trade certification as a millwright as well. (seems to me I spent more time going back to school than I actually did in school during my high school years.) I've been with this compamy for 24 years. I worked my way through and became and still are a supervisor, directing the work force of millwrights, welders mechanics and Laborers. ONLY a short 7 years to retirement know!!! I met and married a girl out here in 78. We had (still have) 4 great kids, 1 boy and 3 girls. My son is the oldest at 29, and he has a son and daughter(yep, that makes me grandpa)as for my daughters, the oldest is 27, next one is 24, she has 3 step children (yep, that makes me grandpa again). My youngest is 21. They are all on their own and have successful lives and careers. The kids' ...Expand for more
mother and I had an amicable divorce in 1992, and I kept and raised the kids. I met a lady (Shari) and after a while we became a commmon-law couple. She she helped raise the kids and also had a daughter of her own(now 25), that we raised as well. In May 2004, Shari was diagnosed with cancer, and she passed away earlier this year. Now for some of the fun stuff. For my career, for pleasure and because life throws you a curve, I've done some travelling, mostly to the US, as well as thecaribbean, Mexico, Europe and the Greek Islands I have also discovered the joys of all inclusive vacations and cruising, which is my preference. In my elder years I have learned that I am very good at taking vacations. I have been taking ballroom dance classes for almost 3 years, as well I have a renewed interest in golfing. I plan to continue these sports. I live on my acreage about 35K from Edmonton, with my 17 year old cat named Hairy. The now picture is from July 2007, and I am sitting with my sister-in-law. I can't seem to locate any pictures of just me Hopefully I have given enough info to peak your interest. I know I will be be trying to contact some of you. Although I don't check my e-mail every day, I will reply to those that do get forwared through ClassMate. As you know, we can't include our contact info through these Biographies. P.S.>> if you are going to change /renew/create your bio stuff, make sure you save before going out of the screen(s), I had to do this 3 times!!!! Well look at that, all done and just under 1000 characters left to use.
