Christi's Story

Life I have one dog pet, who is a dlamation. His name is sysco. I am not married and live with my mom and dad. I enjoy watching TV, riding my bike, going for a walk, reading, and playing games on or off the computer in my spare time. I have no kids since I am not married. I do do three nieces and a nephew, though. I see them quite often because they only live about 5 to 10 minuets away from me. I love and adore the youngest, shannon. She is so cute!! Shawna, the next oldest, just started preschool, and LOVES it!! I love being around these two because they are so cute! The next oldest is Stephanie, Steph for short. She is in the fifth grade and goes to FRCS. The oldest is Scott, who is in the eight grade and also goes to FRCS. Scott and Steph both like to sing and Scott likes art. Scott plays the clarinet and Steph is trying out the trumpet this year. These four kids are from my oldest sister, Nancy. She is the PTF president at FRCS. My mom is a secretary there, too. Just some interesting facts I thought I would let you know. As far as me, I don't drive yet. I do have my permit, which I hope will soon turn into a Driver's license. I've had it for quite a while because my family is busy and they haven't had the time to take me driving. Which I am okay with. When I get it, I get it. I am in no rush. Other than having three nieces and a nephew, nothing much has happenned since I graduated. I have been going to Schoolcraft Coolege since the year I graduated, though. More info on that is in the "college bio". I haven't done much work either, as far as having a job. More info in the "workplace bio". Nothing else more to say about myself other than I have enjoyed it so far. School I din't have a crush on anyone in school, believe it or not! I did like Justin Carr AS A FRIEND ONLY,THOUGH!!I DID NOT HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM!! The teachers I enjoyed the most were Mrs. Micheals(Math), Mrs. Hutton(Economics, Health, and Government, i believe?),Mrs. Nichols(History and English I think?),Mrs. Young(Hisory and English freshmen year), and Mrs. Wright( taught one or two of our science classes as a freshman and/or sompmore year). I din't like theese teachers particularly because of what they taught, but how they taught. I also liked them because they seemed liked they cared. Believe it or not, I learned to like Mrs. Lorenz(who could forget her!) for the same reason. In the begginning, I didn't like her as much. But, as I got to know her more because of how often we had her, I learnede to like her for the rsame reasons I like the other teachers I mentioned. To this day, I still like them and will never forget them. If I could go back to school, I wouldn't because it was too much hadr work!! The teaches I mentioned I wouldn't mind meeting every now and then to let them know what I have been up to because I liked them so much. College I thought this "Bio" page was to be on your goals in college or like where you are in college, so that's what it is going to be about for me. I'll trll you what I think of college life as well. First of all, I am going to Schoolcraft College in Novi, Michigan. I have been going there since I graduated from FRCS. I am certainly going towards a Specials Needs Paraprofessional Associate's Degre, which is in the Child Care Department. For those of you who might not know what this profession, or job, is, it is like teacher's aide, but in a "special needs" setting. What got me interested in this area is if you remember, I did my Senior Project on Cerebral Palsy - which is a dissability. For my product, I watched a girl who has Cerebral Palsy and is about my age. As part of my product, I taught her the books of the Old Testament. Well, I enjoyed my project so much that this is what I decided to go to college for at that time. I say "at that time" because I may be switching gears, I am not so sure yet and I don't know what I wnat to do quite yet if I do decided to change gears. I say I might switch gears because I took a practicum class, which puts you on the place of work you would be working in wh...Expand for more
en you eventually have a job in the profession you are taking classes for, and it was ALOT different then I thought it would be!! I am not sure if I could handle or enjoy myself in this type of profession. I want to work in a profession I enjoying working in, so tha's why am thinking of switching gears. I'll post an announcement when I make my decision. So, anyways, I am REALLY close to being done (year is 2006). If everything goes well, I should be graduating with this degree in the spring. I am so excited. College life has been okay. In some classes, I got more homework than in highschool! But, I managed. I had alot of papers to write! I am glad I had the type of english teacher taht I had because she prepared us, at least I think, for what is expected of us in college level work! Some teachers I had on college were really picky about grammar and puncutaution, and I mean PICKY!! I know I learned that for our english teacher, and I am gald I did!! I even made a couple of friends while at Schoolcraft, which I am proud of myself for doing. Some of them I see more often than others, which is okay with me. As far as housin goes for college, I couldn't tell you what I think of it because Schoolcraft doesn't have any. I think this is because it is a community college, and most community colleges don't have housing available. So, that's my college life. Workplace I haven't really had that many jobs. Really, I have only had one. I have been searching for others, but have had no luck. The one job I have had and actually O am back at it is working in the Food Court at Schoolcraft College. The name of it is Henry's. Schoolcraft has a workstudy program, which is sort of a type of financiaql aide. i say sort of because evrything else , financila aide wise, is just credited to a finacila aide account under you r name. With this, you get paychecks just like you would with any normal job. Anyways, the food Court is located in the building called the VistaTech building. Quite often, banquets and thingo on in this building. SO, sometimes if I am not too busy and I big banquet is going to happen and they need someone to prepare a room, I will do so. This is not too often, though. My main job is too make sure the tables in the food court stay cleaned. It is an open food court, by the way. You serve yourself and then pay after you get wat you want. I am aslo responsible for stocking things in the food court that need to be stocked. Things like pop, chips, candy, milk, straws creamers, platic silverwhere, etc... that are kept in the food court. Overall, the job isn't too bad. People who work there are always complmenting that I am a hard worker. This is because if I am not on break, I always find soemthing to do if there is nothing to do. I am constantly working. Alos, the people who work there are nice, sometimes I talk too them for a little bit if there is absuelty NOTHING to do, this is only soemtimes. One really nice thing about this job is that I get a free lunch as long as I get something from the salad bar or grill areas. I usually do get my lunch from those areas. Well, that all for now. Military I have nothing to write in this bio because I have not been in the military. I do have a cousin who is in the air force. She seems to enjoy it alot. I have no idea what it is like for her because I don't see her too often, she lives in Arizona. She or her parents either call or e-mail us whenver she is sent out. Once she had to go to Iraq, her mom and dad were scared when she had to go there. But, everything was okay, she came home safely. SO, other than one of my cousins being in the air force, i have nothing else to write here and I probably never will. I don't think I have what it takes to be apart of the military from things I have heard about it. Yes, I am proud of those who are in the military and stand up for their country by fighting for it. But, I have heard you have to have alot of deternmination and guts to be apart of the military. I am definatly ure I do not have the determination and guts to do so.
