Hey :-) I met and married my husband 34 years ago. I didn't marry my high school sweetheart. Although, I would love to know how he is doing and whats going on in his life. I hope that his life has been as good as mine has. One thing is true, you never forget your first love. :-) Right after our break up, I met Mike in July of 1986. He was home on leave from the US Army. We dated for a week and then he left to go back to Kansas. :-( We wrote letters and talked on the phone for a few months and then he came home in November for Thanksgiving and asked me to marry him. I already knew he was going to ask, just wasn't sure when. So I accepted and we were married in March of 1987. I went back to Kansas for a few years. Man, was that hard to do!!! I now hate snow and tornadoes!! It was the best thing for me to do, get married and move away. I learned a lot being away from home. I had to learn to be a wife and make it on my own 50 million miles from home. It wasn't 50 million miles but it sure seemed that way. :-) Mike went on a few deployments and I came home for the 5 or 6 months that he was gone. About 2 years into the marriage, I got pregnant with our first child, Skyler. He is 32 now and graduated in 2007. Wow, time flys. He is our miracle baby. He almost died at 6 months of age. With a lot of prayers, he survived. He is very special to us, as you might know. :-) One day he got sick and they kept saying it was the flu. We had him in the ER 2 different times and both times they said he had the flu. Well, one morning he woke up with blood in his diaper and we rushed him to the ER. They said after several hours of us waiting that his bowel slipped inside itself. It's not anything that is hereditary or anything, it was just fate that it slipped inside itself. He was really really sick!!! They flew him to Kansas City, where we stayed for 18 days. We went home a few days before Thanksgiving. It was touch and go for awhile bu...Expand for more
