I was in a general Arts program at Selkirk College in 1968-69. I then went into Arts at UBC for one year. Knowing that all I ever wanted to be was a singer, I finally got up the nerve to audition for voice in the Faculty of Music and was accepted as an Opera Major (because I knew that being able to project my voice with much volume and vibrato would turn out to be a very useful skill when trying to embarass my teenaged children, whether their friends were in the house or just on the phone). mensely talented musician. He has toured in many countries with Sarah McLachlan and k.d. lang. He and two of our children, Taryn and Zak, have a band, ShutterFly. It's terrific to have a resident band and guitarist who can and do entertain at any time from various rooms in the house. I am a professional singer. Our middle child, Jaime, is autistic and so I have diversified my expertise and know quite a lot about autism (among other things).
Taryn married Mark Myers in 2004 and we have a beautiful grandson, Owen and another due in June, 2008. We have a beautiful family and a nice house in a great neighbourhood - university really paid off!
