Christine's Story
Life
I'm living in Kentucky. For those of you who haven't heard, Jim passed away in November, 2003 1 month after our 15th wedding anniversary, after suffering a heart attack. Our daughers were 12, 9, and 6 at the time.
I have since remarried a wonderful man named Steven Cundiff. We met on eharmony (it really does work!). I figured I would try it 1 month, he had been on almost a year and was giving it one more month before he gave up. We recently celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. He has 2 children from a previous marriage, so together...we have 5 children; their ages are 17, 15, 13, 13, 11.
As you can imagine I stay busy between working full-time, mothering and of course chauffeuring. My oldest daugher is driving now, and is a huge help.
I went to Daley College after graduating from SSB, and obtained my Associates Degree. I am now working toward my Bachelor's...Expand for more
Degree. I'll probably be a thousand years old by the time I receive it, but I guess it's better late, than never, right?
As my children grow, I am reliving my Eberhart days and SSB days. My daughter graduated 8th grade yesterday. It was no big deal. There was no Pomp and Circumstance, no Ms. Stockdale holding them back as they walked into the auditorium, no songs sung by the entire 8th grade, no poems recited. it was pretty boring. They wore no caps and gowns. I couldn't help but think back to my own 8th grade graduation at Eberhart, and how great it was (even with the corny poems we had to memorize).
The other issue I am dealing with, is prom. My 17 y.o. just went to her Junior Prom. WOW, what a deal that is! I have to tell you, my fellow SSBers, we missed out. That Junior/Senior banquet we had just didn't cut it! The puppet show was funny, but.....
