Christine's Story

Life Do I have kids! I have three of the greatest children a mom could ever have, especially when they are sleeping :) My oldest, Bill is 14 1/2 and just won Iron Man and MVP awards for his football team. He can tell you anything you ever wanted to know about history, war in particular...he knows tanks, fighter jets and anything to do with weapons. He wants to go to Princeton...I'm not going to be the one to tell him! lol Sarah is 12 1/2 and is such a sweetie. She is like me, in gymnastics and just recently placed first on matt, second on bar, thrid in vault and fourth overall...that was her first meet! Move over Shawn Johnson, lol. Jonathan will be 11 in March, my sweet baby boy. He will be famous like his grandfather one day! He creates anything out of anything. He creates sculptures, makes museum cards to explain what they are as well as diagrams them, listing all materials used. (a budding architect, I'd say) Pets...lol...maybe it's the farm girl thing. We keep everything alive well past life expectancy. Our hamster is 4 years old...they told me he'd last two years. The best is our goldfish! Our nanny thought the children should have a pet...so she went out and bought three goldfish - one for each of them ...that was over 10 years ago. One of them weighs close to 3 lbs...I kid you not! No brand new chopper...leather, I will not go there :) Sold my beautiful 6,500 sqare foot Victorian House in 7 days in a bad market! One of my best friends is the best home stager around...couple that with all the antiques I've collected over the years...now we;re temorarily homeless. It feels kinda good. No responsibility. We're living in such a gorgeous condo with a pool, spa, health club, conceirge service...I don't want to go!! Nearly two years.....I am so spoiled :) I have a job that most would kill to have. It took me 25 years and 4 really bad jobs to get it...not to mention luck! I am the CFO (Chief Financial Officer for all you non-business people) for a start-up company that is giving Pitney Bowes a run for their money...ok, I exaggerate a bit..but we're a force to be dealt with....I was the CFO/Controller for a big company in Greenwich, CT until I helped sell it to Enron, lol...you know how that went? (No, I didn't take any stock..but did get to retire for 7 years and raise my children.) I also teach Accounting at our local college...I keep busy and love what I do and the lifestyle I enjoy.... When I was young, most remember me as shy...Expand for more
, a bit giddy but most times serious. Now my friends want a TV crew to follow me for a day...they claim it'd be great comedy. I meet so many people every day... life has been good to me :) College Oh was I a mess in college! I learned the art of drinking with my bff, Traci Roadside at Glassboro. I discovered that 7 and Gingers were so good...I still drink them today. (So if you ever have a party and invite me, please be sure to stock it!) When I got to Rider, I lived in Lincloln and was a proud member of Lincoln Z sorority, lol. Anita Gerome (as in "Anitadrink") was the best roommate a girl could have...she taught me so many slangs, tight being my favorite. I remember needing red bows to decorate our suite and helping ourselves to them in the cafe-- tree and all. Lisa Wagner convinced us all to enter the Halloween contest...I was the "Nice Witch" (I am sure my ex would disagree, lol) and wore my prom gown which was a hoop gown (wonder if anyone at Oakcrest remembered such lovliness??)...went to a few frat parties that night when an 'unfortunate' situation occured. (the dress got caught in my waistband) I was informed 6 parties later...oh, we WON! I will have to dig up that picture...we all looked so great. Wharton was a bit tougher. I remember sitting in the classroom on my first day all cocky, afterall, I already had earned a BS in Finance, how bad could this be?! Well, by the end of the first week, I complained/joked that everyone (but me) could recite word for word the chapters in the accounting book! UB was a great chance to prove that I wasn't a dope in higher education. I made great friends and worked all kinds of crazy hours to rank #1 in my MBA class...I was mad that my IS prof. gave me my only B+...the rest were A's...guess what? I now work with Clare Woodman, my Marketing partner! The company has since gone out of business and I am now doing a lot of business consulting. My favorite project is for a luxury women's clothing line -- I have managed to get on TV, have some great pics in magazines and newspapers. I always wanted to be famous -- any one remember Debra Nappe? Someone from Bally's (I worked there to pay for college.) told me I looked like her -- she was a newscaster...oh well, took till I was nearly 50 to make it in the social rags...but I did it. I guess you can tell that my life was never dull. It's been such a nice experience reconnecting with old classmates and I hope more of you write to me...Smile, Christine
