Christine's Story

April 29, 2009 10:35:44 AM Subject: Hi, from Christine Brusatori! To All My Classmate of 1969: What a rush! I was just thinking about our 40th Celebration! Looking at all the names from the past, some use to be my best friends, some I didn't know as well as I might have wanted. We spent 10 years in Chicago which I LOVED but we talked about the only way we would move to Florida is if we got a job offer which my ex-husband did and the rest is history. I have ended up in Coral Springs, Florida which is about 20 minutes west of Fort Lauderdale. We came here at the time to make sure that our youngest daughter, Vanessa would be going to a good school system. She (Vanessa) was 21 years old in June. My oldest daughter, Melissa is still up there in Warren who just turn 37 years old with her husband and our two and half grandchildren; Mikail and Angelique. Melissa is expecting again in December near my birthday. It's very difficult during these times to schedule a visit to Michigan for I have not been working very regularly. In Florida people work all the time past their retirement age just to keep active and to be out there and helpful to other people. I have spent a lifetime building my personal and work experience in a very honorable way. And now when I try to get a job I have to battle with the past of every person who ever tried to cheat or manipulate their way into a job. But the most satisfying part has been working with the Youth Ministry at St. Andrews in Coral Springs. I have for almost the last ten years been influencing the youth and helping them as I helped myself come out a divorce and to rebuild out lives. Vanessa went to three high schools. I'm not sure how it works in Michigan (anymore) but where you live determines where you go to High School. She was just determined that she wasn't going to the assigned school. I wasn't that crazy about her going to a school where there were 3M to 5M kids and I know you know that it is not like it was even for us in high school. But despite all that she has had excellence teachers and I am very grateful. I spend my time between Bible Studies, Adoration, contributing my skills to the Youth Ministries and trying to find a full or part-time job. I would love to know how your lives have turned out and how your families have grown. My affections and thoughts are always with you. Now that a lot of my family (parents and Aunts and Uncles *** never had grandparents) we should keep in touch and it's such a thrill just to hear your names. Thank You for reaching out! God Bless You All, Christine Brusatori Merlotti Remember When: Was it our senior class that painted the dome or am I getting old? I hope you don't remember me as weird because I didn't talk ...Expand for more
very much and I didn't have any boyfriends from our school. Patrick Singleton from Bishop Foley. Patrick, by the way got another girl pregnant and I don't know whether they married or not, but I saw his mother in Detroit one day and she kissed me. OMG The one thing or was it many was, that I did take off from school to go to the May Day demonstrations in Washington. My heros at that time were John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther KIng and ... The one person from my past that I would like to see again is Nina Curcuri ? But I know that's impossiable. My Biggest surprise is that I got so smart yet I never went to college. My Dad always said that it isn't where you went to school it's the experience you have along the way<3 What I have learned from my kids is to slow down, live the moment your in, and be grateful for all the rest. Does anybody remember any of our teachers? To be truly happy I would be right where I am doing exactly what I'm doing only I would have millions of dollars to give to the youth ministries (something we didn't have) to help us through the bumpy parts of life. It's been my experience, that parents don't want to be parents anymore. A lot of the grandparents (that's us guys) are raising the youth and that's not bad, it's just wrong. Am I opinionated ? :) Do you remember how we dressed? I remember blue jeans, T-shirt and a flannel long sleeved shirt. To hot in Florida for the flannel shirt. If I would do anything over, I would go to college. I believe that women, especially should be educated. Now these days employers want you to have at least an Associate Degree, let alone with my area, they want a Masters. In 10 years I hope to be rich. I'm going to get there by working. I don't remember how I met some of my best friends, but I do remember the things we did, how we shared dinners and a lot of personal secrets among only our group. It was truly the best. For them to find out how politically I turned out after High School. I associated with every group and some were very dangerous. My first job was at the Ice Cream Shop up where Grants use to be off Campbell and maybe that's where I met my friends (15 1/2 years old) I remember at 12 not wanting to wear a bra. Why couldn't everyone (Mom) just leave me alone in my tree where I would sit for hours in those woods (the ones no one walks through any more?) Oh by the way they are both red heads. Some of you may remember my brother Rick (he lives in Portland Oregon) had the auburn hair, well they do too! Luck me Hun?!<3 (by the way, this is a sideways heart) For All of You that have already read my story or maybe this is your first time, I added pictures to the time line and also in my album. Go...take a look<3
