Life
Hi there... Life has been good as well as interesting since leaving Illinois. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, widowed now from my wonderful husband, Greg. I have a son and daughter and six grandkids who have kept life delightful.
I retired, the first time in June, 2006, after being a principal for 15 years including the last three as a Lead Principal responsible for approximately 25 schools in the Cincinnati Public Schools. I facilitated three Principals' Leadership Academies! If anyone would have asked me what I wanted to be - it was not to be a principal... but somewhere my career took a lucky turn and I thoroughly enjoyed making a difference in the lives of children. Since retiring - really "redirecting" my life to other things, I've been consulting nationally both privately and for Teachscape, a national educational company. This has led me to travel and work throughout the country where I've discovered that schools have the same successes and challenges everywhere!!! I then fell into a job as a Regional Director for Catapult Learning for multiple states. I am again re-retired and heavily involved in committees and courses.
Greg and I enjoyed traveling on a regular basis, from kids and grandkids homes in Dallas and Red Lion, PA to regular trips to Mexico and the Carribean. It's hard to believe we're grandparents! It still feels like we're 35... I am trying to continue our traditions of travel for birthdays and anniversaries as well as winter vacations. The older I get the less I l...Expand for more
ike winter.
Golf is again a favorite past time.
I'd love to hear what old friends and classmates are doing and how life has treated everyone else...

2016
Life has brought bumps in the road. My mother passed away April 30th. In May, I visited a school in Gary, IN and took a full tour of Homewood, HF, checking on whether old hangouts were still around. The memories were wonderful to bring back and my mother was young
June 30th, life instantly changed. My husband, Greg, was diagnosed with curable colon cancer, we thought. On July 20th we were told it had metastasized to his liver with over 50 tumors, jumping it to stage 4, noncurable. Life now surrounds chemo, confusion and many developing weaknesses while watching the love of my life fade away. Family, friends and my current job (Regional Director, Catapult Learning) have been a wonderful support.
It's funny how dreams we have can disappear in a minute. Live life to the fullest.
2018
I haven't updated this is a while. Unfortunately, I lost Greg on May 15th, 2017, as he passed away at home in my arms. Life took a drastic change as I struggle to go from "we" to "me"; not a change I envisioned at this age..
I went to the reunion with Chris Lind Nielsen whom I had not seen in 7 years and it was a great time. It was also great to reconnect with others and meet others. Life is too short to miss these memories.
I hope to re-retire this year and enjoy more time with my kids and grand-kids. They light up my world.
