Cindy's Story
Life
Just moved to Eureka Springs AR because WE BOUGHT A RESORT!
Lived in Dallas for 16 years - before Dallas I also lived in St Petersburg and Tampa Florida and Wichita Kansas after living in Tulsa, Claremore and OKC. In addition to our resort (Fairwinds Mountain Cottages) I own my own Graphic Design Business.
I'm married, with no kids (unless you count the critters - 2 cats, 3 dogs, 16 turtles 4 Hermit Crabs and now 2 goats). Still love to read, write, listen to live music and drive fast cars. I also love to travel - but there won't be much of that for a few years - we'll be taking care of other travelers instead. I am involved in several wildlife programs including turtle rescue/rehab (we have 16 turtles currently). We support The Good Shepherd Humane Society (local shelter) and when we can, we love to do whale (Orca) research on Vancouver Island in British Columbia (where we hope to have a summer home one day).
Although it's part of my "work" I love gardening and taking care of our ponds. We have one spring-fed pond now - 2 acres stocked for fishing and we are building a second pond adjacent of aprox 1 acre that will be for viewing only (no fishing). It will be more water garden style - waterfall, planted (lilies, lotus etc) and have koi and goldfish.

when we're done with our initial improvements the property will be called "The Retreat at Sky Ridge"
School
After High School I attended Claremore Junior College (Now Rogers State) in Claremore for 2 years on a full drama scholarship. I graduated with an Associates Degree in 1978. I then attended University Of Tulsa on journalism scholarship for 2 years, graduating in 1980. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations with a minor in Psychology.
College
LOVED College, would love to go back and may when I retire. Great experiences, wish I had paid more attention! The 4 years FLEW by and I was so anxious to get out and get a real job and earn some real money - if I'd only known then, what I know now, lol.
Workplace
After college I worked in Multi-Family Management and Marketing in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Florida. Moved to Dallas (for a second time) in 1993 and stayed there until we bought the resort in Eureka Springs (May 2009). At 38 I decided to take the giant step of starting a whole new career and I now own my own Graphic Design Company, Ink Studios. I also do some writing and photography when I find time but for the next 10 years I will mainly be running and developing our new resort - now have 135 acres to turn into our version of paradise here in "The Natural State". It's gonna be a lot of work, but hey - who ever said making dreams come true was EASY? If it was, everyone would do it, LOL.
