Cindy's Story
Professionally, since I did not know what I wanted to do when I was out of High School. I attended Word processing courses at PG Comm. College and then proceeded to Strayer University for Information Systems. I attended 6 writing courses at Georgetown University and took some Publications Specialist courses at GW University.
Still not sure what I really wanted to do, I hooked up with one of my friends from Stephen Decatur and we joined the Army Reserves in 1996. I served for 8 years, ending my service working with the DC National Guard Staff Judge Advocate's office.
I've worked as a secretary, legal secretary, and Paralegal in Washington, DC for 20 years now in different capacities.
Personally, I married in 1996 to Tracy Burnette. I did not have children, but I had 2 step children through marriage. I now have 4 grandchildren. Tracy and I knew each other through mutual f...Expand for more
riends since 1983 and dated for 5 years before getting married.
I'm interested in completing 20 years of Federal Govt. service, so I am focusing now on getting a government job that is rewarding, for which I can make a difference in. I decided that I would like to work with computer security, which is a fast and growing field.
I have lived in DC for at around 20 years now. I am planning on moving to wild and wonderful West Virginia, for a little peace of mind and a lower cost of living.
My 2 brothers and 4 sisters are still living and my mother is also still alive, living up at the tip top of Maine. My father died of a stroke and heart attack about 8 or more years ago.
The family is all spread out in the areas of, Delaware, DC, MD and Washington State and Maine.
So, I hope this has been a fun catch up for you. God Bless You and Keep You.
