Clifford Gerhardt:  

to join the U.S. Air Force on November 17, 1981. Six months later on April 20, 1982 I went to Basic Training for six weeks and then an additional six weeks training to become an Air Force Security Policeman at Lackland AFB , San Antonio, Texas. Graduating from the Police academy on Aug 18, 1982. From late Aug 82 - Feb 87 I was stationed at Dover AFB, Delaware flying on C-5 Galaxy aircraft providing enroute security. From Mar 87 - Mar 88 I was stationed in the Aleutian islands at Shemya AFB , Alaska on a remote assignment. From Mar 88 - Jun 92 I spent the remaining 4 of my 10 years on active duty at Griffiss AFB, Rome N.Y. In Sep 94 I entered the Air Force Reserves and was stationed at Westover ARB Mass. In Aug 96 I moved to March ARB, Riverside California To become an Air Reserve Technician and a Department of Defense Police officer. In Mar 99 I transferred back to Westover where I currently reside. On 1 Jan 2003 I was promoted to the rank of Technical Sergeant. It has been just over 20 years since I first said the oath. Looking back it has been a very rewarding career,worthwhile in everyway. I have seen the world and met some interesting people along the way. It has been absolutely fabulous!! AND continues to be!!! After 24 years, 7 months and 13 days, I RETIRED from the United States Air Force on 30 June 2005. In December of 2004 I started working for the Westover ARB Police Dept.
