Colleen's Story
Life
I am grateful for an amazing ride so far!
47 year marriage - still going strong.
Kids are grown and independent - I'm so proud.
3 granddaughters.
Lived in 4 great cities of our beautiful country (spent an interesting year working on Parliament Hill).
Spent a few decades Involved in Guiding and Scouting (leadership, training, canoeing, backpacking, civic voluteering). Had fun working at 3 World Scout Jamborees, and taking youth on many trips.
Travelled to all 10 provinces, 41 of the 50 states, UK 5x, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands (x2), Belgium (x2), France (x3) Italy, Luxembourg, including a journey around the war sites and Vimy Ridge anniversary. 13 of 31 Mexican states and South Korea, Singapore (x3) Hong Kong, Malysia and Indonesia (x3), Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and New Zealand....Expand for more
We drive down to Mexico (where we volunteer for the community) every year and live in a sweet little beach house and we love having company.
Still fortunate to have my mom at age 98 in our lives.

Have been working with the Elmwood High Legacy Fund for 9 years now - this little committee (with the help of many wonderful grads) has raised over $300,000 in bursary and scholarship monies. This June (2023) - we gave out $13,500 of bursary and scholarships and provided seed money for a new entrepreneurial program at the school!
