Colonel James's Story
Life
A Major/0-4 in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps. After graduation I attended Pensacola Junior College and The University of West Florida. I then enlisted in the Army as a Electronic Warfare Morse Code Interceptor. I attended the United States Army Intelligence School at Fort Devens Massachusetts. After graduation, I served 2 1/2 years in Germany at an Army listening post at the hieght of the Cold War and served on one early reaction force. I completed my 1st Associates degree in Liberal Arts AA at City Colleges of Chicago located in the 2000+ year old city of Augsburge Germany. I was promoted to SGT/E-5 at 2 yrs in service. I then returned to the United States to attend the United States Army Infantry School Airborne course(Parachute) at Fort Benning Georgia 1987. I joined Special Forces and moved to Washington State. I completed my second associates degree AS Technology with Pierce College. I attended the 1st Special Forces Scuba Divers course in 1988 and SODA qualified by 1989. I served on two Military Intelligence Long Range Reconnaisance Teams and was promoted to SSG/E-6 at less than 4 years in service. I stayed with Special Forces for two years and married before transferring to the National Security Agency at Fort Meade Maryland June of 1989. I served as an Early Warning and Indications Watch Officer. I had my first son February of 1990. I was selected to attend the US Army Officers Candidate School in 1990 with a class date of October 1990. I graduated as 2LT of Military Intelligence January 18th 1991. I then attended the Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course February of 1991. I also attended the Army RANGER indoctrination program while attending the MI Officers basic course in Arizona in preparation for the first Gulf War. I went back to Maryland at the end of 1991 where I worked as a Team Leader in the United States Foreign Intelligence Activity. I transferred back to the National Security Agency in 1992. ol where I became a Cryptologist of Signals Intelligence and Completed a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science 1993. I served another year with the Agency Completing a second Bachelors of Science in Information Systems Management at The University of Maryland and left for Korea in 1994. I served on the Joint Intelligence Staff at Headquarters 8th US Army and USFK for one year as the Theater Electronic Warfare Operations and Signals Intelligence Officer. I was then promoted to Captain/0-3. I returned to Arizona to attend the Military Intelligence Officers Advanced course in 1995. I graduated and went to Fort Gordon Georgia and served four years in the 513th Military Intelligence Brigade. I left the active army in 1999 and went home to Pensacola where I re-entered the Special Operations community in the 350th Civil Affairs command near Pensacola airport. I served there from 1999 until 2001. I moved to Norfolk Virginia and Instructed ROTC at Norfolk State University and later transferred to 78th Division Fort Lee as an Observer Controller for Military Signals Communications lanes training. I then worked part time for Premier Technology Group in Fairfax Virginia as a Senior Background Investigator. In late 2001, after the 9/11 terrorist incident, I left for the middle east as member of my own private company, created in early 1999, in association with the Vinnell Corporation in anticipation of Gulf War part two. Upon arriving in the middle east, I worked as the Military Intelligence Trainer for the Saudi Arabian National Guard Modernization program. A United States Army contract for modernizing the Saudi Arabian Royal National Guard. I left Saudi Arabia in early 2002 continuing to pursue the goals of my own private company. I moved to Asia in early 2002 and then back to the United States in late 2002 for my wifes birthday. I transferred to the 5th Battalion 159th Aviation at Fort Eustis Virginia in preparation for deployment to Iraq. There I served as an Aviation Allsource Intelligence Officer. Promoted to Major/0-4 March 2006.
