Connie's Story
Whats to say really? I havent changed the world,I haven't made my mark, haven't saved any lives or made any great contributions to society. I have had fun though!
Left Bowie in 79 when my mom remarried, I couldn't stand the guy!It didn't last long though and I swear it wasn't really my fault :) We went to Hampton Va. where I made the change from geek to stoner. Got into a bit of trouble hanging with the bad boys of foxhill. Dropped out of HS in 11th grade to become a professional beach bum. And yes - I had fun!
In 85 I moved to Charlottesville, VA with my mother but missed my beach and moved back for awhile. Finally ended up back in Charlottesville in 87 and did the community college thing and got an A.A.S. which was a waste and got me no further in life then I would have otherwise, but again - I had fun!
I'm still in Charlottesville. Finally figured out that my dream of being a rockstar wasn't going to happen mainly because I have no talent, had my share of menial jobs over the years, janit...Expand for more
or, retail, warehouse, and now running the desk at a scientific organization, just something to pay the bills and support my habits/hobbies. Still love my music and will hop a plane in a second for a good show! music is my life!
Too much independence for any real relationships to happen. Did the live in thing with one guy for 7 years and was glad we didnt get that piece of paper. Made it easier to leave - can't say I had fun though.
The fun is now! Once I accepted that I'm just a bit different and the white picket fence, 2.3 kids and a dog named fido isn't what works for me, life is fun again! I do what I want, go where I want, sleep when I want and eat when I want. Might not work for 99% of the people but it works for me.
I do still have room for friends though and its been fun finding out what happened to some old buds from HS and such so if you want to drop a note feel free, I'll be glad to hear from you. (unless your that weird kid who picked his nose while staring at me from the corner)
