Corene's Story
I graduated from Fayette-Ware High School in 1964 with a full scholarship to attend TSU. However, due to family circumstances, I had to go straight to the cotton fields. Sixteen years later, after marriage, children and divorce, I finally made my way to college. First, to Shelby State Community College, where I earned an associate degree. Life has thrown me many challenges, but God has sustained me through them all. I am now an ordained minister with a special calling to teach. I have written and published two books: Uniquely Yours: A Poem for Every Occasion and My Spiritual Resume: Will It Get Me To Heaven? Writing and teaching are my passions.
I've had a blessed life so far, but I believe the best is yet to come.
