Corey's Story
Life
I left High School, excited to start college at Oregon, only to be a little homesick so I moved home after a quarter and continued at TCC.
When I was nearly done there, I enlisted in the Navy where I studied to be a translator (sounds more interesting than it is but I did get to toss back a few cold ones with the Rooskies to promote glasnoste.)
When I returned from the Navy, I met my wife, Annie, at a New Year's Eve Party 1992-1993. We married in 1998, and have two fantastic girls born in 2002 and 2004.
I eventually did go back to school, and got a BS in Forestry from the UW (Go Dawgs!). I paid my way so it took longer than I wish it had.
I worked my way up to management with a large utility contractor before jumping ship in search of better benefits and more time with family. Now, I manage the land development of certain subdivision projects for a large homebuilder. I love it and hope to retire there someday.
I still "play" Navy on the weekends as a Chief with a local Navy Reserve Unit. Both jobs require...Expand for more
a lot of time. I hope to stick it out until 2012 when I can retire.
We have a home we love in Auburn by Trout Lake. It's not huge and we're not rich, but it's big enough and we're not poor either. The convertible in the pic was a rental (boy it was fun). Yes, we own a minivan.

My college experience was on-again, off-again, part time, full time...In the end I got my piece of paper. I would love to go back if those lotto numbers ever came up...
Workplace
Currently, I work as a Senior Development Manager for the Puget Sound Region's largest homebuilder. I work a lot of hours but love my job.
