Corrina's Story
Life
Hi L-A graduates, friends! Man, where to start???
After graduation from L-A, it was nothing but classes and studying. I did four years at NMSU, then transferred to UNM to complete my clinical studies for Medical Laboratory Sciences. Through trial and error, finally graduated from UNM (but still a diehard Aggie!) in May 1999. My first job as a Medical Technologist was in Parker, AZ...great place! After 3 years in Parker, I moved on to Tuba City, AZ, and worked there a year. I moved back home to Casa Blanca in Sept. 2003 to await the arrival of my baby girl. Lauren is now four years old and has grown soo much. I will be at ACL for 5 years come Sept. 2008.
For those that may not know, I lost my sister, Melissa Albert (L-A class of 86') on Jan. 7th, 2002. She was killed in Albuquerque by two "boys"...one was 13 years old at the time...Expand for more
and the other was 15 years old. It's been very much a roller coaster dealing with her death. My parents and I continue to struggle with what had happened and our live without her now. We miss her very much and I know that she continues to stand beside and support all her friends, family, and fellow classmates. Missy was always a proud graduate of both L-A and New Mexico State University.
And what the future holds for me is still to be seen. I hope to have another child some time, but for now enjoy being a mom to my little girl. Not married, currently single, but not in much of a rush to jump into the relationship game again. I'm doing okay, enjoy my job for the most part, and always happy to see friends and fellow classmates. I wish everyone the best, all my prayers to you and your families. Stop by ACL laboratory and say hi sometime!
