Cristina's Story
Life
Right now things are pretty hectic. I work full-time as the Media Specialist at Midway Middle School. I'll be starting my 3rd year in that position. Prior to that I taught 7th grade Social Studies for 6 years. I had a baby in December, 2005. He is a real sweetheart, but a handful at times.
College
I went to college at Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah. I commuted there everyday. Not fun. I graduated in May 2001 with a BA in History with a Broadfield Social Studies Teaching Certificate.
Sucker that I am, (well, let's tell the truth, I wanted a raise), I went back to Armstrong to get my Masters of Education in Secondary Social Studies. I finished that in December 2005. It was a race to see if I could finish my 30 page term paper before the baby came. Luckily I finished about 4 days before Aiden was born.
Now I am back at school getting my EdS in Curriculum...Expand for more
and Instructional Technology from Valdosta State. I'll be done in May 2010. After that it's off to GA Southern for my Media certification.
Workplace
My first real job was in college. I worked at McDonald's for 4 LONG, sucky years. I did everything: counter, drive-thru, grill, crewtrainer, shift assistant. (This is the most bullcrap title ever! Basically I was the assistant manager's assistant. I did the work but didn't get the pay.)
Then I graduated and got a teaching job almost right away. So, since 2001 I have been working at Midway Middle School. I just got hired to teach a night course (Technology Applications for Teachers) at my alma mater, Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah. How I decided I have time for this, I don't know!
