Crystal's Story

Life I am very happily married to a marvelous man, Brian. We met in Houston, TX in 1997 and have been married since 1999. I was married previously for 13 years and I have two wonderful boys from that marriage ages 22 & 20. I also have two step-sons ages 26 & 21, one step-daughter age 23 and a godson age 7 that I absolultely adore. He's the most precious thing you ever met. My husband and I are planning a trip to England but don't want to backpack. I lived in Utah for a little while in 1984 and moved to Pasadena, TX after that until 1998 when I moved to Galveston Island. I love it here and don't want to move any time soon. I don't have any yearbooks anymore so if anyone has one, I'd love for you to upload some of the photos. In 1983 I was in a very bad automobile accident where I was in a coma for a little while and have suffered olfactory sensory loss. I also have some memory loss so any reminders you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I love The WHO and have been to see them in concert a few times. The last time was in November 2006. We couldn't get good seats from Ticket Master so we had to buy them from a broker. We ended up paying a huge amount. I had to have front row seats right in front of Pete because I don't know if/when they're ever going to tour again. I tested with Mensa several years ago and was asked to join but I didn't; I just wanted to know if I could. As you may have read on my bulletin board, my brother passed away in October 2007. His death was so sudden and unexpected. I still can't believe that he's gone. If you remember him, I would really love for you to share a memory with me. School I had to leave Furr in late 1983 (I failed a year; I think 8th grade because I skipped too many classes-I spent the year finding myself `; -) and actually graduated from Pasadena High School but don't claim to because Furr was my home. I went to Furr when it was still a Jr/Sr High School so I spent many years there. Ms. Limerick met with my mother and I to see if I could stay at Furr because that was the year that the new middle school opened and Furr became only a Sr. High. Of course, I was allowed to stay. I went to John Greenleaf Whittier Elememtary in Jacinto City. I lived in Jacinto City all of my school years on Muscatine Street. I had Ms. Phlem for Kindergarten, Ms. Berchey for 1st, Ms. Tindal for 2nd, Ms. Wynn for 3rd and Ms. Jones, Ms. Hall, Ms. Wal...Expand for more
ker and Ms. Tibbetts for 4th. Ms. Wynn She would sing "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" to us a lot. I don't remember my 5th and 6th grade teachers. I attended some college. I didn't stay long enough for the degree but went for about a year. The teacher that inspired me most was Mrs. Crabb. She was motherly to all of us and always had some inspiration to share. I understand she recently retired. I loved watching pranks being played on Mr. Miscoe, the band director. The boys would move his VW Bug to the football field or turn it upside down. Even when he drove the "Love Machine" van they were able to move it from one parking lot to the other. It was hilarious watching him in the parking lot searching for his car. He would just stand there dazed looking left and right. Coach Newsome told us he was a cousin of Ossie Newsome. The teacher (don't remember his name) whom the older kids would tell us was bohemian and ate bugs off of the wall. Ms. Dailey was the PE teacher and everybody thought she was gay. I had Ms. Coslett for business class. Coach Neal taught a class that I was in. I was in the fine arts club taught by Ms. Wells. I remember that she drove a DeLorean. Mr. Yeager was the principal and I remember that he would stand in the hallway in front of the office in the mornings and when my brother would see him, he would say, "Good morning, David". That would always crack me up. Ms. Wilkins was my English teacher in earlier years and Mr. DeBlasio was my English teacher later on and I liked them both a lot. I remember when it would rain and the water would puddle up on the courtyard area and we would run down the sidewalk and get soaked. I have some photos of some friends when we were younger that I might post later. I remember going behind the band hall and adjacent shack "classrooms" smoking pot with some friends. Then we'd drive down to McDonald's and get lunch. Workplace I work at UTMB and couldn't have a better job. I am so lucky to have a job that I love. We travel the state teaching healthcare professionals about bioterrorism. We also have a web course on bioterrorism and natural and man-made disasters. My husband and I own a medical billing company. We handle billing for healthcare facilities and doctors, including subrogation and litigation. Of course, we're based in Galveston but have agents based as far west as California. We can bill for anyone in the country.
