Curtis's Story
Life
After graduation I took a year to decide what I wanted to do.
Enlisted in the US Army in November 1958. Quickly realized that this was what I wanted to do.
After Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, KY and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Jackson, SC. I was assigned to the 92d Field Artillery in Germany as an Artillery Surveyor for two years. Five tours of duty in Korea as Chief Surveyor, Emergency Action NCO and Field Artillery Operations Sergeant for Eighth Army Headquarters in Seoul. Two tours in Vietnam as a Chief Surveyor. Two tours at Fort Sill, OK as a Survey Instructor and as Enlisted Battery Commander for the NCOES (Non Commissioned Officers Education System) Battery.

Vietnam in June 1967. Retired from the Army as a First Sergeant in April 1980.
Met my wife on a tour of duty in Seoul Korea in 1965. Married at the American Embassy in Seoul in May of 1966. Lived in Lawton, OK. Had a wonderful 27 years until she passed away in August of 1993. Sold the house and moved back to Murfreesboro for two years (1993-1995). Thomas Wolfe was right "You can't go home again." Moved back to Lawton in 1995 and rented an apartment. Been here ever since.
Joined an engineering firm as a Surveyor in 1982. Had a four way heart bypass in 1986. Retired completely in 1992. Still living in Lawton, OK with my little Yorkshire Terrier Katie Ann.
