Cynthia's Story
Most of you surely don't remember me, as I was very shy in high school...but I had dreams of travel and adventure. I haven't thought of Dobyns-Bennett in many years, but now that I look through the list I do remember many of you. I attended Maryville College, then transferred to Miami University of Oxford, Ohio, and graduated in 1979. I spent most of the next fifteen years living, working and traveling in South America, West Africa, Washington, D.C, and Calgary, Alberta with the Peace Corps, UNICEF and other organizations. ew Orleans and met my husband. We followed his career to the Chicago area but moved in 2000, settling in another small Appalachian mountain town (which I thought I'd never do!) several hundred miles north of Kingsport. I became a mother very late in life and now I enjoy being a stay-at-home mom in my fifties to a young lady who keeps me feeling youthful (or exhausted!) with her ballet, violin, trombone and horse activities six days per week. I also love my dogs, cats, gardening, reading, volunteering with AFS (high school international exchange) and painting theatre sets for local school and community productions.
