Dale's Story

Attended Cleveland State for one quarter, back in the fall of 1968. Remember, this is when all of that initial construction was going on, and studying was way too difficult. Transferred to CCC Parma for the winter quarter and stayed there for the remainder of that academic year. In Sept 69, I enlisted in the USAF, and went to San Antonio for boot camp and tech school. I came back home in Jan 70, and got married to my college sweetheart and wife of almost 40 years. I served in the USAF in Anchorage, Alaska, and was discharged from there in Dec 1973. My wife, Helen, was with me in Anchorage, and together we had our first two boys there. I st...Expand for more
arted working for the Navy Finance Center in Jan 74, and stayed there until Apr 90. I did go back to school in 1974, and used up my GI bill. Back in 1982, Matthew was born. I did one year of consulting in 1991, got laid off for nearly five months, and got a job at Westfield Insurance, in southern Medina county. All of my professional time has been spent as a programmer/analyst. I retired from Westfield in Feb 2008, and I am now consulting once again, working at DFAS (the old 'Navy Finance Center'). All of the boys are married, and Helen and I have 4 grandsons. My mom still lives in Parma, in the same house since 1962. My dad died in 1996.
