Dan's Story
I never thought I would do this but here goes.
Believe it or not I have actually done something with my life. I know there are many of you who may not believe that, but it's true. Shortly after we graduated I hired into the local Goodyear Plant as a Maintenance Technician, yes I have some troubleshooting skills. Anyway, since I was like the 5th person hired into the plant I worked with many of the Goodyear people who start plants all over the USA. One thing leads to another and before I knew it I was traveling the world starting tire plants.
In the meantime I managed to marry the love of my live. Some of you may remember Joyce McEntire who graduated a year before us. Well, she was the one for me. We married in 1980 and had our first child in 81. Christine and Daniel II were born in the Great State of Oklahoma and Adam is a Buckeye. We transferred to Akron, Ohio shortly before Adam was born so he is stuck with that title. He doesn't seem to mind. Christine graduated from Akron U and has since married. Daniel is married and has one semester let at Kent State, and Adam is single and in his second year at Akron U.

After a few years in Corporate we transferred to Canada to start a new tire plant. It was fun because there were several Ike grads there, Paul Rust(75), Larry Jamison(75), and Mike Burns to name a few. We had a good time and showed them how Okies get things done.
Since that time I've been involved in plant expansions in Bogor, Indonesia, Manila, Philippines, and Bangkok, Thailand (3 times). We had the kids with us until the last to two assignments in Thailand. They really enjoyed living outside the US and the experience for them was great.
I'm currently the Project Manager for the expansion at our Santiago, Chile Tire Plant. It's not as much fun because I work too much, the kids are back in the States, and none of my old buddies from Lawton are working down here.
Without the kids around it gets kind of quiet down here for Joy and I. That being said, if any of you are in the country feel free to stop in. We have two extra rooms and a nice selection of good Chilean wine. Send me an e-mail if your coming to Chile any time soon.
Hope everyone for the Class of 77 is doing well and thanks for checking in on me.
