Dana's Story
Okay - So I ran away to NYC in August 1989 (just after graduation). I lived and worked there for a year (one of the best years of my life). Decided I wouldn't get very far without an education, so I returned to Utah and attended Westminster College where I received a bachelor's in History and Spanish. I also met Joe there (my husband) and we were married the September after we graduated. We then moved to Prescott, AZ to help open a New Frontiers Natural Foods store. gree and then began working for JP Morgan. I began teaching in Scarsdale, NY in 1997 and loved it. I taught second grade for about eight years before having my son, Tate. I thought I'd go back to work but found that I could not bring myself to leave my little boy. I became a full-time mom in February 2004. I have since had a daughter named Lucy (2006) and am currently loving being Tate and Lucy's mom. Our family is pretty firmly planted in the City and we are excited about raising our kids here. My son is a huge subway/bus map fan and my daughter Lucy is a handful (she's almost two). I'll also mention that I ran the NYC marathon in 2001 (right after 9/11) and that I plan to run it again in 2009 (I just qualified for guaranteed entry). I also love to write. That about sums up the last twenty years for me :)
