Dana's Story
Life
After high school I got my BS in English from MUW, worked for an oral surgeon in Columbus for a few years, got married, then moved to the French Quarter in New Orleans in 1998.
In New Orleans, I worked for Tulane School of Medicine, the Dauphine Orleans Hotel, and finally Our Lady of Holy Cross College. While I was in NOLA I studied Creative Writing for three summers in Prague, Czech Republic, at Charles University (traveled to Amsterdam and Cairo as well), and got my MFA in Creative Writing in 2002 from UNO.

ked for two years as a magazine editor and writer. Currently I publish, edit and write for the women's travel blog, diva in a carry on (you can Google the name for the web address), and I do travel, health, food and technology freelance writing for several online and print publications. I also Skarlet Ink, a writing and editing service, an Skarlet Press, a small independent publishing house.
I still write poetry and fiction. Most recently, my work has been published in the poetry collection, Velvet Avalanche, and the fiction collection, Life in the Wake: Fiction from Post Katrina New Orleans.
