Daniel J.'s Story
Life
After graduating from UCLA, I went to Japan to teach English, and have lived in that country for most of the last 24 years--although I have also taught in Finland and the Czech Republic. More recently, I earned a Master's Degree, and since that time, I have worked as a lecturer at a number of universities in the Tokyo area.

I got married in 1983, and my wife's job corresponds roughly to the Japanese equivalent of what is called a Marriage, Family and Childhood Counselor.
Since I am six-foot-four-inches tall, the things I miss the most abou the USA are door-frames that I don't hit my head on and clothes that I can buy off-the rack. In addition, I suffer from nostalgia for such manifestations of the baby-boomer generation as "Leave it to Beaver" and "The Andy Griffith Show," etc.
