Daniel's Story
Life
You can read the college and work bio and put the story together. It has been a lot of ups and downs that past 14 years. In 1995, I took off to Europe for my first backpacking trip. Ended up staying 6 months... oops! That kindled a love affair of traveling which continues to this day. 40 countries later and still planning the next backpacking trip!
College
Started at University of British Columbia to study Marine Biology in 1990. Hah. Transferred into engineering the next year. Left UBC in 1992 for the University of Idaho, and finished a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering in 1995. Traveled. Returned to grad school in 1996, New Mexico State Unive...Expand for more

Workplace
Spent many field seasons up north - B.C., Yukon, Alaska, Northwest Terrorities to pay for the undergraduate degree. Performed geophysics surveys (copper/gold)in remote exploration camps... hard work but paid the bills each year. Joined NASA in grad school, and worked in the field of propulsion (Shuttle engines) at a facility in New Mexico. Finished the Masters and took a full time position as a power systems engineer at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Work centers on new battery technology, EVA hardware, building prototype vehicles, and mission operations(ie: mission control)
