daniel's Story

I graduated in 1970 You might remember my cousin Mary Collins. She was in the other class .I have been working for Empire Blue Cross for the last 38 tears. What was I thinking!! LOL I have to say at that time in 1970 there was no better place on earth than The Good Old Bronx. A very special time , a very special place , and very special friends , family and neighbors It was a place with no VCRs, cell phones and internet and we made out okay I know the young people today would say we lived in the dark ages but in reality they do What will happen when we lose electricity for a few hours. Our entire world gets put on hold and we did not even have that feature then. Can the clerks make change with out that prompt on the register? I don't think so! How many of them have experienced a less complicated time where we had no choice but to stop and smell the roses. Hell! We planted them!. "Oh forgive me Sister, one of those tough old broads called the Dominican Sister. .Between the Priest and the Nuns , God Bless them all, they nearly put the Police Department out of business No kidding! crowaveable low calorie no carb dinner with glorious chemicals that we cannot pronounce and not a clue what they are eating.??? Okay I stretched that one out a bit but boy, it was easy.. Yes our parents really cooked real fresh food and correct me if I am wrong but isn't that what our medical society wants us to go back to?? Anyway I find my self very fortunate and truly blessed to be raised at that time I also am very fortunate as God saw fit to spare me my life on 911 . I am a survivor of Tower One , 17th floor of the WTC on 9/11 and I had a book published about my experience that day as I have no political convictions as might be told of some of the first responder. I was just a typical officer worker who will never be the same and was given a second chance at life and will never ,ever be take it for granted. I had a book published, short story of my experience that day from the moment I wake up at 4:15 for that long commute until the time I arrive home safely in my house later that day. It is called " A Commuters Story 911" Today I live my life dancing as if no one is watching! I hope my story finds all of you in good health mentally and physically. God Bless. Let us never forget!
