Daniel's Story
I've lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since about 1995. I work as a hydrogeologist dealing with water resource issues (groundwater focus), mainly in California but also elsewhere in the US and overseas at times (Middle East, Kazakhstan, England). I've lived in a lot of places since leaving Park Forest, including Santa Barbara, Newport Beach, and Hawaii, but the Bay Area is the most special to me. I've made a point of travelling for both work and pleasure and my trips have brought me through Europe, Central Asia (lived in a tent near the Aral Sea while working in the area), New Zealand, Israel and the West Bank, Nepal, Thailand, and all over America. Went on trips to the Galapagos, Machu Pichu, and Palau with my girlfriend.
I met a great woman a few years ago and we got engaged in 2007 (but still not married as we near 2011!). It felt like forty years in the wilderness before that although mos...Expand for more
t of that was my fault since I knew a number of truly exceptioanl women. I was blind. (but in the end, fortunate).
I went to the 30 year reunion a few years back (I think it was in 2003). I remembered so many of the faces. If you have memories from PF/REHS times you'd like to share let me know since I find them interesting. Along these lines, I found it fascinating to read some things I found on a Park Forest internet thread where people were talking about the Pickle Barrel, Goldblatt's (and Marie, the store detective), Art Hodes, Battle of the Bands in Central Park, and the Twelfth of Never.
