Danny's Story
Life
After graduating from high school, I did my undergraduate work at Fairmont State College in music. During college, I got married to Barbara Leasure from Moundsville.My first two years of teaching was at Paden City High School with band and chorus.We then moved to Brooke County and I taught elementary music for 14 years and then middle school band grades 5-8 at Follansbee Middle School for ten years. During my stay in Brooke County, I received my Masters Degree from WVU in music education. My wife and I have been teaching for the last 12 years in Charlotte,NC. We have two boys, Matthew and Daniel, 31 and 24 years old respectivly. We also have three grandchildren. I would really like to hear from some of my classmates that I grew up with and also some of my students.
During the past five months, I have had to undergo severe spinal surgery twice. The surgeon took three vertabre and three discs out of my neck and put in a titanium plate to stablize everything.I also had to have lower back surgery this past October. I have also been SES (Supplemental Educational Services) coordinator at my school for the last two years besides teaching elementary music.
