Darlene's Story
Life
About a year after high school, I married Shaun Smith who unfortunately went to Woods Cross (hah!). I attended Weber State University but never quite figured out what I wanted to do. My husband also attended Weber where he graduated with a double major in English and Political Science and moved on to a graduate program at Westminster College to become a lawyer. After practicing in the field a couple years, he decided he no longer enjoyed it, so he left to pursue what we've both always loved to do...grow flowers. ful place to live right near Lake Michigan, and we loved every minute of it. However, in January of 2007 we made a move to Iowa to work for one of the top plant producers in the nation. We currently live only a mile from work in rural Iowa on a 2,000 acre farm that grows corn, soybean, and raises cattle. We absolutely love living on a farm. There are no loud neighbors, and the view is endless. I'll admit that I don't like the bugs and humidity though. We have 2 dogs (shihtzu's) which are our kids for the moment. They are quite a handful themselves. Other than work (growing flowers), I enjoy traveling, camping, photography, and returning to Bountiful to visit family and friends.
