Darren's Story
Life
Graduated 1987 and left rather quickly for the US Navy. Spent 11 years in the Navy at various locations and have traveled to 33 different countries. Met my wife while I was stationed in San Diego, California. Married in September 1993 and we have four kids (Matthew, Abby, Mikey, and Emily). Had an untimely retirement from the Navy due to injuries. Spent some in Helena, Montana working for the Montana Department of Transportation as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator, and am currently full-time at KSU.

selected to fill a career appointment position with the Federal Highway Administration - Oklahoma Division. So, in June 2007 we loaded up the family truck and moved to Oklahoma. Four kids, a dog and two cars traveled for two days to the middle of the dust bowl of the nation and now call it home.
Kids are thriving now in a school system that is amazing. Matt (13) plays football on the 8th grade squad, Abby (12) plays volleyball for the 7th grade squad. Mikey (8) still idolizes Spiderman and he can be found swinging on a web most anywhere. Emily (6) is the star of her class. She misses her best friend Morgan, but she is doing well.
