Darryl's Story
Life
After Dunrae Gardens, I went to Wagar High, then did my two-years at Vanier College in the Liberal Arts program.
Then, on a whim, I applied to the Philosophy department at McGill where I earned by B.A. in 1997.
But after the big philosophy industry crash of 1997, I figured I'd better get a practical education.
So, in the fall of 1997, I started my second B.A., this time at Concordia journalism school. It was a much more enjoyable academic experience. While still in school I was offered a part-time marketing and communications job at non-profit job-search and business start-up centre in Montreal.
That job led to a one as a copywriter at an education software company, after I graduated. "C...Expand for more
opywriting" has nothing to do with law. Rather, it's the field of folks who earn their living writing words (aka "copy"). Perhaps you've seen our work on advertisements, toothpaste tubes, and websites.
(While professional copywriting lacks the cachet of the legal profession, at least people don't make nasty jokes about us.)
Nowadays, I live in Snowdon just a few minutes walk from Amazona -- the famous Greek restaurant. The apartment frequently smells of tzatziki. Fortunately, the Snowdon Y is nearby.
I live here with my fiancé. We met a few years ago at school and hit it off. She's cute, she gets my jokes, and she's a great cook. What else could I ask for. We're getting married in late 2003.
