David's Story

Please email me direct at chaplain-dave (at) sbcglobal(dot) net My Gold Membership has expired, so if you would like to get hold of me you can at the above address. God Bless each and every one of you. I would love to hear from anyone, Class of '71, McLane High School. School Well I had a girl friend while at McLane. Her name was Kay Millspaugh. We spent a lot of time together. Wish I could find her now, just to see how things have gone for her. Had a crush on Gale Eads. Who didn't? She was one of those girls that was so pretty that it was just too hard to talk to her. She probably didn't even know I was alive. My biology teacher was Mrs. Hoover. She lit a fire under me. Never enjoyed a class quite as much as hers. I would not go through High School again. It was an experience, but I lost a few friends to drug overdoses, and a few to the war in Viet Nam. Even though it was tough then, the kids in High School today are up against odds that I think are far tougher. When we were in school, nobody carried a gun to school, we didn't need metal detectors at the gates, if we had a problem with another guy, we usually met after school, beat each other up and went home, only to be friends later on. College Graduated from High School in 1971. I was married in my senoir year at McLane and was told that I was a bad influence on the other students, so I had to finish the year at Dewolf Continuation. Don't quite know just how bad an influence I was, but I still graduated in the top 10% of the United States. Went to Fresno City College, worked on a degree in Human Resources, but soon realized that I didn't like to work with other people. So, I became a truck driver, (having driven over 3 million miles,) was Sa...Expand for more
fety Manager and Forklift Trainer and Examiner for the many years with "The Company." At one time I was a member of Dramatic Disciples, a Christian dancing, singing and acting group. It was directed by a dear friend, Daniel Arrigoni and lasted for four years. During that time the group would visit two rest homes each month and put on a performance at a church. The purpose of this group was to minister not only to those already having placed their trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, but to those who may never have heard of the saving power and grace of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. If you do not know Jesus as your personal Saviour, and you have any questions about eternal life and how to attain it, PLEASE, e-mail me at chaplain-dave(at)sbcglobal(dot)net and I will try my best to answer your questions. Do not let this opportunity pass you by. Workplace I have driven a truck for over 35 years. I just retired in May, 2009. Still trying to get used to not going out on the road. I have always been afraid of change, so I have worked for the same company since 1972. Still here in Fresno. Studied Theology, earned a PhD. in Biblical Studies and became a minister in 2004. Kinda bummed that the all class reunion for McLane was canceled. I would love to have seen if all you guys have aged as well as I have, (lol). Got an email from a friend that I went to Turner Elementary, Kings Canyon Jr. High and McLane with. Exchanged phone numbers and called and talked to her for nearly an hour last night. Wow, what a wonderful time catching up. Plan to go for coffee some time in the near future. This classmates thing is pretty neat. As we would have said back in the day, groovy, right on, far out!
