David's Story
After graduation, I lived in Victoria for a short time, a girl I know convinced me that I should look at the job opportunities in Alberta.
So on January 1 2000, we left Vancouver Island and moved to Edmonton. I got a job as a welding apprentice and completed my Red seal ticket in 2005. I worked for Boundary Equipment from 2000-2005, then took a lead hand position at Alco Industrial Inc. from 2005-2010. Jump back to 2003, I was with a woman living in Stony plain for a couple years and we had our son Deklin, we have since separated. In June 2006, I met the one! In May 2007 we bought a house in Sherwood Park, September 2009, we got married.

ch couriers and began working as an equipment operator/maintenance welder for Standard General Inc. Edmonton in the asphalt division. My wife Vanessa and I bought 40acres next to her parents in Strathcona County just East of Edmonton in 2012.
June of 2014 our daughter Elyza was born. We are all living the country life hunting, biking, hiking, quading on our little piece of Alberta. I am still working with Standard General starting my 10th Constuction season as a loader operator in the Agregets division. Our daughter Starts kindergarten this fall and is quite excited to start her journey through school and all the friendships and memories that come with it.
