David's Story
Life
Love: 2008.. When I think of love; feeling it. I have to remember the absolute hilarity of Christmas gifting, a four hundred pound chocolate chip cookie, model of a mustang...I laughed for hours. Driving for hours in a tornado because I just had to be close. I wish I knew the path back to that time when innocence and naivety prevailed.
When all could be well in the world with the embrace of a warm hand.
The Kids
Jon the evil genius plotting world domination or a future preacher plotting world domination. age 13...2007-still an evil genius but got a great smile.2008..ditto, possibly not evil just bored
Adam the gentle giant. ASPCA had our house on their route because every mammal followed Adam home. 6-4 250 lb all muscle. age 16...2007 finally confessed, he may have encouraged those dogs. may have some hard lessons to learn.2008 still learning speaking of learning I may haave learned Adam encouraged those dogs
Christian the line walker. Hot cold, tender hard, a giant in ...Expand for more
his own mind. There will come a day that his mind and reality connect. 2007..still waiting 2008..somewhere in my karma it must be written needs to learn patience; late 2008 finally on a path that encourages his talents, good to hear his smile
My Job
Totally enjoyable. I went to far away places, keeping in mind that when unfocused, the neighborhood corner is far far away. I was expected to perform the unlikely; endowed with a lack of resources, human and material, an unreasonable timeline. I lived in my padded stall and threw money at the challenges. I just loved it.
Just when I got into something I was good at;(throwing someone else's money at things) life redirected me. Lung transplant and subsequent deterioration has brought me to a point where I delight in every day; no matter what it brings. Sounds trite but its a goal that has become lofty. The cough is gone, the cigarettes are so long gone I almost never crave one. Married life is grand surprises and joy every day.
