David L.'s Story
Life
I was born and raised in Asheville, NC, went to Appalachian State Teachers College, became a USAF Pilot, flew KC-97s at Little Rock AFB and KC-135s at Glasgow AFB, MT, then became a Delta Air Lines pilot in Atlanta in Jan. '67. Also remained in the US Air Force Reserve until retiring as a Lt. Colonel in Oct. '82. on at Dobbins AFB, Marietta, GA. With Delta I flew the DC-6, DC-7, DC-8, DC-9, B-727, B-757, B-767, A-310, L-1011, and MD-11, retiring as Captain on the MD-11 in April '99 at age 60. My wife is the former Arlynne Coburn, Palm Beach High School '56, and we were married in Jan. '61 in W. Palm Beach. We have three children and four grandchildren. I look forward to hearing from all of you. We're in the Atlanta, Georgia suburbs.
