David's Story
Life
Hmmm
Well, I am retired and enjoying life even though I am single. Fortunately I got into trouble drinking pure alcohol, which caused me to totally quit drinking. After that, I got serious about stopping partying and apply myself in study and my hobby of electronics. I attended the UW, San Jose State. I worked for the federal govt. in fisheries, worked in audio with Bob Carver, founder of Phase Linear, Carver Corp, and now Sunfire, all of which designed and manufactured high end stereo equipment. In 1966, I came up with the idea for a more powerful stereo amplifier than was then available, that became the design that Phase Linear used to start the company.
Lately, I've been doing my family history after my mother stopped. Remodeled my 1900 Victorian house in the Fremont area (center of the Universe!), sold it at the peak of real estate prices in 2007, moved to a place with 5 acres and a lake. Gas prices were going nuts, so bought a Prius. Doing a little gardening. a Taurus SHO, and on my boats. I particularly enjoy the San Juan Islands.

gland, did a little family research there as my father was Scottish (Ladely is Scot)/English/Dutch, Irish, Visited the old family manors and a castle; Drove around the countries of continental Europe. Also went to Norway, saw ancestral family farms. Then I went to the French Riviera, and drove around Provence, Monte Carlo, Monaco, etc.
I hope to drive over to Spain via the Riviera on a future trip.
Over the years, I drove around Europe in general, except Spain, over a period of months. Favorites (thus far) were Austria, Germany, Switzerland, southern France, Norway, Czech. Also Slovenia. Liked London, York, Venice (of course!), and Dubrovnik surprised me.. I enjoy the history and architecture. Good French food is my favorite, but Italian is close and much easier on the pocket book.
In 2006, I bought a place for wintering in Puerto Angel, Oaxaca State, Mexico, an area in Mexico that has "perpetual summer", great fishing, warm water, great non humid weather, nice people, very clean area. I love summers in the Pacific Northwest, my favorite part of the US.
