World-wide travel has been my passion since graduating from Highline and continues to consume my thoughts, time and money. I am living single and based in Scottsdale, Arizona, but I spend a lot of time in South Wales, UK. At 15, I was member of the Des Moines, WA Sea Scouts and always wanted to "Join the Navy and see the world." So after Highline, I enlisted in the Navy with my pal, Dave Brown (also Class of '59). I first served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Princeton (LPH-5), prior to volunteering for the Submarine Service. Following graduation from Submarine School in New London, CT, I was assigned to the USS Pomodon (SS-486), a WW-2 fast-attack sub. She had been commissioned in 1941 -- just like me! I loved sub duty and made some great friends -- 57 of 'em, to be exact, as we were a very small crew. It was an ideal environment for a young man in which to grow up and I have many fond memories of the fascinating ports of call we visited and the many friends I acquired.
