David's Story
Life
Well,,,,Julie Forman always told us...to work on our
"CHARACTAH" building....
Which I have been doing...for the last thirty years
Hey....if it's a Forman rule...I'm gonna follow
it...right????
My trail of travels and study,,,since my '71 cap and gown
day.....
Californina, for two years,,Menlo College
Missouri.....Univ. in Columbia
Austria---Germany...living in Vienna, learning violin,
and German....And all about OPERA
Boston....working that the Mother Church , of C. Science,
also studying VOICE
DENVER...back to my home turf.....studying about theater,
opera management...
Am currently involed in forming a small group here...
which is "politically centrist"---a radical move, as
the arts is, in my view, way too far LEFT leaning
Used to be a super liberal myself....but now, shock,,
I wake up to discover myself...a member of the
Republilcan Party...a very few of the "non straights"
who support the great "elephant" cause
Am currently penning my MEMOIRS,,,,a whole chunck of which
traces my years spent at Forman
I don't write to publish...but just to share with my
buds
Very mixed feelings...about that Litchfield encounter
As you all know,,,...Expand for more
kids would wind up in Dobbins attic,
and have to wear shades----signaling to all their
SEQUESTRATION,,,for just holding hands with a girl
Then, about a decade later, the school tipped over to the
other side of the scale....you'd think you'd had entered
a Roman orgie scene
"The best of all possible worlds",,,to borrow words out
of CANDIDE....is a means between the extreems
in every pathway we may traverse , in our stary like future
For a "LD" clueless young preppie, such as myself,,,
under the yoke of the dyslexia burden,,,,Forman was a
green light,,,where I had been used to seeing only
a sea of red,,in my four wheeled adventures in life
Perfect...no, certainly was not
MANY a bloopers , from that spot in the hills,
nestled right in the New England lay of the land
But...it was the FORMAN STUDENT,,,boy or girl....that spun
off that glirious melody...that got us through
those murkey dark days of the sixties
Well, maybe not ALL murkey,,,,we even lit up the face
of the Moon a few times,,,,in our free time at Forman
Some times,,,known,,,as well as unknown...to the
forces that be...even today
Go In Peace...all of ya
